ALASKA & YUKON

For my birthday in July my wife Cissy treated us to a 12-day cruise tour to Alaska and the Yukon. We criss-crossed between Alaska and the Yukon Territory in Canada. Highlights were Denali and Glacier Parks with lots of other interesting stops.

On my actual birthday we had a full day. We started in Whitehorse traveling on motor coach by beautiful mountains and lakes. Next we got on a narrow gauge railroad through the White Pass from Fraser to Skagway. Then we took a helicopter and landed on a glacier. Finally we boarded our cruise ship for a delicious dinner of salmon with Baked Alaska for dessert. We made some great memories on this birthday!

Below the trip photo highlights click to see a video of “frontier justice” … an impromptu mock trial featuring Larry and Sid, two “stars” of our tour group. The prosecutor is a local sixth grade girl. It was a delight to share this trip with our new friends in the tour group.
