CHEROKEE COMMUNITY CHORALE

One of the highlights of this Christmas season for me was the concert by the Cherokee Community Chorale. http://www.cherokeecommunitychorale.org/

On December 16 they presented their Twentieth Anniversary Christmas Celebration at Canton First United Methodist Church.

Guest conductor, Jenny Rawson, also led the Georgia Regional Girls Choir with a number of selections. Accompaniment for the whole performance included piano, organ, and brass ensemble with timpani and percussion.

The standing room only crowd heard popular Christmas songs and traditional carols. The center piece was “Gloria”, a work by John Rutter with three movements. The finale of the afternoon was the “Hallelujah Chorus”.

I am so impressed by the talent collected in our area to present such an inspiring and beautiful program of music. Hallelujah!
