Christ Candle

The center candle of Advent is the Christ Candle. Christ is the center and focus of Christmas. Jesus is the reason for the season. Tonight we celebrate the birth of Christ. Immanuel – God is with us.



Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”


Loving God, we thank you for leaving your throne of glory to live among us. Help us prepare our hearts to receive Christ. Bless our worship. Help us to hear and do your word. We ask it in the name of the one who was born in Bethlehem, Jesus our Lord. Amen.
