$130 MILLION CHURCH BUILDING

First Baptist Church of Dallas has approved a $130 million building plan. They say it will be a state-of-the art, 21st Century campus that will be a re-creation of a facility that is easily identifiable as a church. The campus will embrace the church’s historic past while boldly asserting its place in the Dallas skyline.

The FBC of Dallas pastor, Dr. Robert Jeffress, says:
"As I look around downtown Dallas, I see spectacular temples of commerce, of culture and of government – many new, some restored to former glory, and all intended to stand for generations. The Kingdom of God needs a home to equal them – a spiritual oasis in the middle of downtown."

Hummmm .... "the Kingdom of God needs a home in a building"?
I like the 1st Century plan I read in the Bible ...
Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." The Jews then said, "It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?" But He was speaking of the temple of His body. (John 2:19-21)
Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16)

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. (Ephesians 2:19-22)
You also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:5)
The Dallas church has an impressive website to demonstrate the plan:
