ACHOOO!

I have felt fairly miserable for the last ten days with a common cold. I have taken various kinds of over the counter drugs, with some relief. For some reason I overlooked the typical treatment of some chicken soup.

I got tired of taking meds for over a week, and the last couple of days have mostly tried to drink a lot of water and rest much. Generally in the past I have found a cold will run its course after ten days, whether I take meds or not. So … I am expecting great relief surely in the next day or so.

Did you know your style of sneezing can tell a lot about you? Check this out!

Tonight I decided to look on YOUTUBE at some suggested treatments of a common cold. Some were interesting, and some funny. Most of them were people genuinely offering help. There were suggested concoctions from:

Russia – salt, water, iodine

Turkey – garlic, honey milk

India – water, cayenne chili pepper, honey, lemon

USA – onion, sugar (24 hour cure!?!)

There were some videos with doctors proposing treatments. This one below states that colds are especially precipitated by lack of Vitamin D (less sunshine in winter), stress, irregular sleep patterns, and too much sugar. The treatment is to put a capful of hydrogen peroxide in your ear. Maybe next time I will try this approach, along with some chicken soup. At least the soup will taste good.
