FUN FONDUE

Last night I had one of my best meals in a long time. Cissy created the moment to celebrate the birthday of Josh, the new and the only son-in-law, and husband of Betsy.

We had fondue. The term “fondue” comes from the French “fondre” (”to melt”), referring to the fact that the contents of the pot are kept in a liquid state so that diners can use forks to dip into the sauce. Fondue definitely makes for a fun and interactive meal. I believe it was the first time I had fondue in 30 years.
We started off with cheese fondue, dipping pieces of bread in a mixture of Monterrey Jack and Cheddar. Then followed cooking pieces of steak filet in peanut oil fondue. Sides were baked sweet potatoes and tossed salad. For dessert was chocolate fondue with bananas, strawberries, pineapple, and cake. Wow! It was all soooooooooooooo delicious!!!
