GEORGIA MOUNTAIN FAIR

After a month’s hiatus I am going to try blogging again. Yesterday my wife Cissy and I enjoyed a trip to the Georgia Mountain Fair in Hiawassee. We toured the arts and crafts exhibits and walked down the midway with all the rides. http://www.georgia-mountain-fair.com/

The main reason for our visit was to see the “B.J. Thomas ‘Raindrops Falling on My Head’ and Billy Joe Royal ‘Down in the Boondocks’Tour” show. It was preceded by a talented and lively country music band. Both B. J. and Billy Joe sang a full repertoire of their hit songs. At the end of the show they did a great rendition of “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling.”

We were thoroughly pleased and entertained by the outing. The whole fair experience, including the two hour plus concert, cost us $7.00 each!

A fun little side show was the National Pig Racing Association with swift swine swooshing across the line. Below is one of the heats.
