TOTALLY TROPICAL

Sunday evening we attended my granddaughter Olivia’s annual dance recital. The tropical music theme made for lively and colorful presentations.

During the evening I was reminded that I am married to a woman who has friends everywhere. The recital was over 30 miles from our home. We stopped at a grocery store near the recital hall to buy flowers for Olivia. Immediately one of Cissy’s friends stopped by to say hello.

We sat down in the dance hall and the man in the row in front of us leaned back to greet Cissy. While we were waiting for the recital to begin, our daughter-in-law Haley mentioned that their babysitter, who lives 30 miles in yet a different direction, knows Cissy.

After the recital we drove down the street to a restaurant and yet again another friend of Cissy stops by our table to say hello. The friendly and personable style of Cissy has made memorable friends for her in many places.

Olivia’s four year old cousin Madison was in town from Mississippi. Madison had her ballet recital a few days earlier. In their photos together you can notice that their dance poses are a quite different.

I had trouble taking photos during the program far back in the large and dark recital hall. I did experiment using my digital camera to make a short video. Click on the link. Olivia is the second dancer from the left.
