Today marks 89 years ago that my mother, Billie Tyson Frazier Ellington, was born. Here are some photos of her life.



One week from today will mark 90 years from the birth of my father, Charles Hendley Ellingon. Here are some photos of his life.

My mother passed away a few days before Christmas five years ago. My father followed her less than five months later.

I think about them often and miss being able to share my life with them. I have many good memories of them and treasure momentos they passed on to me. Of all the gifts they gave me, I am most thankful for the love and patience they showed this stubborn and often stupid son.

Amy Vanderbilt said it well. "Parents must get across the idea that 'I love you always, but sometimes I do not love your behavior.'"
